Metal Fire

Kimberly Roberts has been duped her whole life. Her father created a battlesuit. After it was completed, he tricked her into putting it on, faked his own kidnapping, and forced her to unwittingly physically bond with it - permanently. Betrayed, alone, and forced into a situation she never wanted, Kim Roberts has lost it all. This... is her story.

This title has changed hands the most. #1 was written by Ted Brock, #2 by ODBastard, #3 through #6 by John Green, and #7 through #10 by Wil Alambre. Wil's issues are categorized as ACRAPHOBE, a term used on RACC to indicate Mature Audience Only.

#1: Wrong Time, Wrong Place
Kim Roberts thought she had a normal life. Her father had created a battlesuit, the Human-I-Form, for the government, but pangs of conscience caused him to hide it. However, when their lives are threatened, Kim is forced to don the suit herself. First appearance of Brig. Gen. Mussmoth, one of the leading members of the conspiracy that affects both Metal Fire and City Streets.
#2: Assault on the Pentagon, Part 1
Kim trains with the Human-I-Form, becoming more comfortable with the role she has chosen for herself. Meanwhile, forces gather to take the suit from her.
#3: Assault on the Pentagon, Part 2: Have I-Form, Will Travel
Metal Fire tracks down the mercenaries who kidnapped her father. After the dust settles, Kim discovers something ... unusual about the suit itself.
#4: Assault on the Pentagon, Part 3: Within Five Walls
Metal Fire discovers herself unable to remove the Human-I-Form battlesuit, and charges headlong into the Pentagon in order to deal with General Mussmoth once and for all.
#5: Assault on the Pentagon, Part 4: And The Walls Come Tumbling Down
The secret origin of the Human-I-Form! Kim discovers that everything she ever knew about her parents was a lie. How is she going to react?

#6: Assault on the Pentagon, Part 5: Eight Miles Low
Metal Fire takes on the US Military and a shadowy organization, the Unexpected, who are trying to turn her into a force to be used against both Heaven and Hell!
#7: False Maria 01
Now fully integrated with the Human-I-Form, Kim has resigned herself to the fact that she is more machine than human, at least on the outside. Her world collides with that of a well-meaning hacker who inadvertantly accesses her brain while she's connected to the Internet!
#8: False Maria 02
Kim confronts Eddy, the hacker who accessed her brain, as the Unexpected work to hack it again, seeking to bring her under their complete control.
#9: False Maria 03
Kim and hacker Eddy call a truce as she realizes just what the Unexpected are trying to do.
#10: False Maria 04
With Eddy's hepl, Kim sets a trap for the Unexpected's forces.

Notes from Editor-in-Chief Ted Brock:

It's actually a shame that Wil didn't continue Metal Fire while I was away from RACC. His stuff is the best stuff so far. I've made him an offer to bring Metal Fire into the new StarFall Universe - Metal Fire 2.0, I called it - but to date he's graciously declined, citing RealLife issues.

Metal Fire evolved over time. The title it ended up under the writing of John and Wil was nothing like how I envisioned the character. In a way, I feel like Kim Roberts and Metal Fire is to me like Cable, X-Force, and Deadpool were to Rob Leifield - much better once someone else took them over. That's not a complaint, but a complement to John and Wil.
