History: Born in Hong Kong, Suzanne Chen was only four years old when her parents immigrated to the United States. Unknown to her for some time, her father, David Chen, had taken out a loan with one of the organized crime syndicates to afford to bring Suzanne and her mother, Emily, to the States. When Suzanne had just turned fourteen, David and Emily Chen were gunned down in a drive-by shooting outside their New York Chinatown residence; Suzanne had only survived when her powers instinctively manifested to freeze the bullets meant for her before diving out of the way behind a dumpster.

Two harrowing days later (during which time she was apparently found by social services and questioned by police trying to identify the shooters), she found herself standing at the alley when her psychometric power manifested, instinctively creating a hologram of the car as it drove by. Realizing that she could find out who killed her parents, she followed the car's holographic temporal echo to where it was parked. The hologram of the drive-by shooting was noticed by the police, who followed discreetly. Once at the murderers' hideout, the police pulled her aside and thanked her for the assist, moving to arrest the murderers. When the killers opened fire on the police, Suzanne consciously used her powers to freeze the killers and the bullets, saving the officers' lives.

After that, Suzanne was approached by Charles Xavier, who enrolled her in the Xavier Institute for Gifted Youngsters while also becoming her legal guardian

As a student at the Institute, Suzanne was part of the small army of students gathered by Scott Summers to rescue his brother Alex from the Cult of the Living Pharaoh. This was apparently the first time she used the name Sway.

After graduation, Sway joined her fellow Xavier Institute alumni Darwin and Multiple Man in opening up X-Factor Investigations in Manhattan's Mutant Town district

Sway, along with the rest of X-Factor Investigations, was later seen as one of the alumni who volunteered to protect the Institute from the Juggernaut, Xavier's step-brother Cain Marko, when the latter attacked it. She was also among those who worked to protect people and keep them calm when the Zodiac Cartel raised their energy dome over Manhattan.

Strength Level: Sway possesses the normal human strength of a woman of her age, height, and build who engages in moderate regular exercise.
Known Superhuman Powers: Sway possesses the mutant power to affect the flow of time in localized areas. Her primary use is to adjust the flow of time around her and her teammates enabling them to move and act faster (from the point of view of any observers); she is also able to slow time to hold a person in a kind of stasis or to slow a fall. She is able to affect objects as well, slowing and even freezing bullets in flight.

She also possesses psychometric powers enabling her to probe the past of people, objects, or an area; when using her power to view the past of an area, she is able to produce realistic 3D holograms with sound to "play back" significant events that happened. How far back she can view events is unknown; when her powers manifested, she was instinctively able to view events from several days prior, and with X-Factor Investigations she's only viewed the events from several weeks prior at any given time.
Other Abilities: Sway has an eye for detail. She is also multilingual, fluent in both the Cantonese and Mandarin Chinese languages.
Limitations: Sway is nearsighted, requiring corrective lenses. She typically wears contact lenses.

Role-Playing Notes:

Sway is a personable young woman who has realized the superhero life is not for her. She believes she has found her calling as a private investigator, using her psychometric power to assist others.

She is not much of a combatant, being instead the investigator who "plays back" the events at various locations. In combat, her main instinct is to buff herself and her allies, and trap the enemies in her temporal stasis fields.
