Stunt cyclist Johnny Blaze traded his soul to the Devil to save his father's life from cancer. The Devil reneged on the deal, however, by killing Blaze's now cured father during his next performance. When the Devil came to collect, however, Johnny resisted with the help of his girlfriend, Roxanne Simpson, a student of the occult. The Devil, however, cursed Johnny to take the form of the Ghost Rider.
Ghost Rider follows the adventures of Johnny Blaze, his seeming demonic alter-ego, and Roxanne in their quest to control or eliminate the Ghost Rider from Johnny while using it and her mystic knowledge to fight Mephisto's forces.
