Next to the weapons, the one thing ensuring survival in the post-apocalyptic world is armor. The most common armors are made of brahmin leather and scrap metal; this has ensured that the armors are generally in the form of heavy plate rather than scale, mail, or lamellar.
These pieces of armor are available almost anywhere, from practically any merchant. The bulk of them are made from brahmin hide and scrap metal.

These pieces of armor are available only from select individuals or organizaions. The Combat Armor and Assault Gloves/Boots are available from Jacob (the exotic arms dealer in the Hub), the Gun Runners of the Boneyard, and the Brotherhood of Steel. The Brotherhood armors are available solely to members of the Brotherhood of Steel, and look identical to their generic counterparts, except for shading. The various prices have been increased to indicate their price in a TL 6 campaign; the Combat Armor is normally $900, the gloves $30, the boots $150, and the powered armor $200K, at their base TLs.

With split DR, except for the powered armor, the first number indicates the DR against piercing and cutting damage, while the second number indicates the DR against all other damage types.
For the powered armor, the first number is for the main body (torso and groin), while the second is for the extremeties (arms, legs, hands, feet, and head).
