Deianaera

Deianaera was based on my main KOTOR2 character, Darth Sunshine, only placed in a Renaissance-era fantasy setting. The game I made Di for has not yet started.

Di is a Disciple of Kael. Kael is the god of justice in that world, and the Disciples of Kael area monastic order that I'd based on the Jedi from Star Wars. Darth Sunshine was a Jar'Kai (dual lightsaber) master, weilding one regular lightsaber and a short lightsaber. I brought that flavor over with Di weilding a saber and a smallsword. Perhaps not ironically, Di's history almost perfectly matches that of the Jedi Exile's, except perhaps not on such a grand scale.

Update: The game Di was to be in lasted only four sessions before dying off. She was kind of fun to play; a woman driven to reconnect with her deity while balancing justice with necessity. If another game was to appear, I'd use her.

Physical Desciption:
Deianaera is a woman of average height and build with shoulder-length dirty blond hair and hazel eyes who wears loose-fitting tan cotton robes. Under these robes, the hints of hardened leather armor are apparent, and a pair of sheathed swords hang from the belt keeping the robes closed.
Personality:
History:
Deianaera was raised in one of Kael's many monastaries outside the city of Sanirdon, the capital city of Marach. There, she was trained in combat and theology, being brought up to act as an emissary of Kael. This particular monastary was not a training ground for Justicars, the paladins of Kael who enforce the laws of the Caere pantheon churches; instead, it was home to the Disciples of Kael, a branch of the Cult of Justice who travel among the populace attempting to correct injustices.
When she was fifteen, Deianaera joined a group of Disciples who were involved in a border skirmish between Marach and Ritaegno, against the orders of the monastary's governing council.
After the conflict ended, Deianaera realized that she had commited more than a few injustices herself when her divine powers disappeared. When the other survivors of the conflict -- who had either not lost their divine powers or had gained new ones when their old ones disappeared -- refused to return to the monastary, Di did so. Following her trial, she was exiled from the Disciples' monastic order.
Since being exiled from the Disciples, Di has wandered the country, trying to come to terms with her past actions by confronting injustices wherever she goes. Only recently have her divine gifts started to return.
