System: After the Bomb, with some Heroes Unlimited modifications added by the GM.

Alkaroy "Allie" Maliban was my first (and to date only) After the Bomb character I'd ever come up with. She's a mutant cat, and certainly acted like it. The game was an After the Bomb type game, but the GM was more used to Heroes Unlimited, so each character ended up with a few HU mods. As a player, I wasn't too keen on having my character modified in that way, so I insisted on a few modifications whose effects were not immediately obvious. I ended up with increased physical attributes: strength, agility, and endurance.

Allie would have been a more effective character if the GM had not constantly used her penalties against her. She was a nocturnal character, tended to sleep during the day and be active at night. I was willing to bend this to a point, basically keeping her active in the morning and early evening, but it seemed as though as soon as she was in a position to fall asleep for a "cat-nap" (high noon), things happened. The other players were willing to stretch things as well, offering Allie a place to sleep on their mounts during the daily transport and accepting that she was on guard duty at night when camping. Several other players felt that the GM was exploiting their weaknesses too often as well, and the game just wasn't as fun as it could have been.

The game fell apart when the GM fell off the face of the 'net for a few months. When he returned, he attempted to restart the game. Only two players out of six returned, and as far as I know the game never happened.

Personality-wise, Allie was a cat: fiercely independent, proud, charming, playful, and quite aggressive. She was fun to play, and should an After the Bomb game pop up again I'd be willing to bring her out again ... after I clean up the HU mods. A character who is 5' 3" tall and 140 lbs should not be able to lift two and a half tons!

And before anyone asks, yes I know the jokes about "alley cat". I was inundated with them by other players. Sometimes the puns are inevitable.

Update: I have recently found Allie's pre-HU mod sheet; I've updated the sheet below with that information.
