Cadillac-Gage LAV-300

The LAV-300 is a 6x6 armored vehicle developed by Cadillac-Gage as a private venture to complement its LAV-150 4x4 armored vehicles. It is not normally used by United States armed forces, being an export vehicle to allied nations, but has seen some use in National Guard units as a cheaper and more urban-friendly alternative to the Bradley.

The LAV-300 has a crew of three, with a driver and two-man powered turret, and can carry a platoon of 9 soldiers. The turret is armed with a 90mm main gun, a coaxial-mounted 7.62mm machinegun, and a top-mounted 7.62mm machinegun for aerial defense. Some LAVs have replaced the 90mm gun with a 30mm autocannon. The LAV is fully amphibious, propelled by its large wheels. Troops disembark from a two-door hatch in the rear of the vehicle; top hatches are also provided for combat while on the move.
