Hrrok'tar Assault Starfighter


The Hrrok'tar is an assault starfighter designed by the K'hissh Imperium, but which can be found in service with both the K'Hissh Space Fleet and the Earth Defense Alliance. The humans in the Earth Defense Alliance were so impressed with this starfighter, they adopted it for their own use over many of their native assault fighters.

The primary purpose of the Hrrok'tar (which is the name of a herbivore animal on the K'Hissh homeworld) is concentrated strikes against enemy capital ships, with the ability to hold its own in a dogfight. Typically, an entire wing of these fighters are deployed at once alongside other starfighters. Outfitted with the proper payload, however, the Hrrok'tar is capable of dogfighting, relying on its armor and shields to protect it, and its more powerful forward guns to dish out the punishment.

A few Hrrok'tars are outfitted with hyperdrives; 01%-15% chance of finding one that is.

EWS Power Redistribution System: This system enables the power from the engines to be redistributed to the weapon systems and the shield system. During normal operations, the power is distributed equally between the three systems. However, altering either the weapon or the shield systems by 25% will affect the thrust of the engines by 12.5%.
Afterburners: For brief periods of time, special fuel can be fed to the thrusters which increases thrust to Mach 12 (Mach 5 in an atmosphere). This can be used even when the engine output has been reduced by 50%.
