Firestorm Fast Interceptor/Starfighter

Designed to be deployed en masse, the Firestorm Fast Interceptor was developed by the n'Rakkan Blood Price as their primary starfighter. Compared to other starfighters, the Firestorm is extraordinarily small, weakly armored, and weakly shielded. However, the fighter is extremely maneuverable, and fast (Mach 12, a speed rivalled only by the CCW's Scorpion Light Fighter).

Model: FEG-1
Class: Fast Interceptor
Crew: 1
M.D.C. by Location:

Speed:
Driving: Not possible.
Flying: In space, Mach 12 maximum, Mach 3.6 cruising. In atmosphere, the Firestorm is limited to Mach 5 maximum, Mach 2 cruising.
Faster-Than-Light: Not possible.
Range: Theoretically unlimited, but only carries a three-day air supply.
Statistical Data:
Length: 20 ft. (6.1 m)
Wingspan: 30 ft. (9.1 m)
Height: 10 ft. (3 m)
Weight: 7 tons w/out missiles, 9.4 tons fully loaded
Cargo: Extremely limited, a 8 cubic foot (2.4 cu. m.) area behind the pilot's seat for emergency food, water, and weapons.
Power Plant: Nuclear fission with a 5 year life.
Black Market Cost: Three million credits without weapons, add an additional 2 million credits for a full weapons loadout.

Weapons:

  1. Rail Guns (4): The main guns of the Firestorm, these guns can be firelinked to fire two or all four of the guns at the same time at the same target. The Firestorm has laser targeting for the guns.
  2. Missile Hardpoints (8): Each Firestorm carries as its secondary armament eight short-range or medium-range missiles mounted on the main wings.
  3. Combat Bonuses: The Firestorm is a difficult fighter to control, requiring a -10% penalty to all pilots not specifically trained in the use of these fighters. However, for those trained in the use of the fighter, all pilot rolls are at +15%, plus the bird gives the pilot a +4 to dodge. Note that these are in addition to the pilot's bonuses. The Firestorm utilizes a vectored and multi-axis thrust system that allows it to perform maneuvers and turns that are typically impossible for most other fighters with standard thrusters and attitude control systems.
