Andromeda-class Carrier
The latest carrier to come onto the scene, the Andromeda is, in fact, a design indiginous to the Earth Defense Alliance. As a result of the Glrrü War, and the subsequent formation of the Earth Defense Alliance, it was decided that the E.D.A. Fleet needed ships of their own. While the E.D.A. accepted ships that were donated from its member nations, there was a school of thought inside the E.D.A. that said that the Fleet would never get the respect they felt it deserved unless they had a flagship design of their own. Both the Andromeda and the Black Widow were the results of these lines of thought.
The Andromeda is a classic space-based carrier. It carries a large number of fighters, has sufficient firepower to fight at long range, and has over a hundred point-defense guns to defend itself.
Being a relatively new carrier, only a handful have been built.

Weapons:
- Anti-Ship Rail Gun Turrets (12): When the Andromeda was being designed, it was realized that the carrier needed a bigger "punch" than previous carriers had. The result was that the carrier sports twelve turrets of three anti-ship rail guns each along its hull.
- Primary Purpose: Assault
- Range: 27 miles
- Mega-Damage: 4D4 x 100 M.D. per gun, 8D6 x 100 M.D. for all three guns in the turret firing at once.
- Rate of Fire: Twice per melee round.
- Payload: 100 rounds each, with another 1000 rounds per gun available
- Long-Range Missile Launchers (12):
- Primary Purpose: Assault
- Missile Type: Varies
- Range: Varies with missile type
- Mega-Damage: Varies with missile type
- Rate of Fire: One at a time, or in volleys of five or ten missiles at once.
- Payload: 10 missiles per launcher, with 50 missiles per launcher on standby
- Light Rail Gun Turrets (72): These turrets are the carrier's primary point-defense weapons, protecting the ship from incoming fighters and missiles. Unlike the larger guns, these only have two guns on the turret.
- Primary Purpose: Defense
- Range: 2 miles
- Mega-Damage: 2D4 x 10 M.D.
- Rate of Fire: Equal to the gunner's hand to hand attacks per melee.
- Payload: 100 rounds each, with another 1000 rounds per gun available
- Short-Range Missile Launcher Turrets (72): These missile launcher turrets round out the carrier's point-defense web. They are designed to protect the ship from incoming enemy fighters and missiles.
- Primary Purpose: Defense
- Missile Type: Varies
- Range: Varies by missile
- Mega-Damage: Varies by missile
- Rate of Fire: One at a time, or in volleys of two, three, four, six, nine, or all twelve missiles at once.
- Payload: 12 missiles per missile rack, with 120 missiles on standby. Reloading is done automatically.
- Starfighters and Other Craft: The carrier houses a normal flight wing of 200 starfighters, but can carry as many as 350 in a pinch.
- Sensors and Features of Note:
- Military Sensor Array: gives the ship's flight wing a +2 on initiative, +1 to strike and diodge, and +5% to combat oriented pilot rolls. Also gives the carrier a +2 on initiative, +1 to strike with all weapons, +1 to dodge, and +10% to combat related piloting rolls. Can track and identify up to 500 targets at a range of 2000 miles, and keep track of up to 250 more targets at a range of 4000 miles. With the aid of the Geologic Sensor Array, is able to take photographs of surface targets.
- Super Navigation Computer
- Sublight Skill: 75%
- FTL Skill: 75%
- Satellite Uplink Computer: enables the carrier to communicate with sensory satellites.
