North Star Company Personnel Roster
- Captain Steve Mitchell
- The leader, owner, and founding member of the North Star Company, Captain Mitchell was once part of the 10th ATAC squad on the Robotech world between the Second and Third Robotech Wars. While fighting inside an Invid hive, he and his Veritech Hovertank fell through a Rift to Rifts Earth. After working as a lone mercenary for the Coalition for a brief period, during which time he acclimated himself to this strange world he had found himself in, he decided to start the North Star Company. In a way, he chose the name as a way of reminding himself of home; the north star is the northern hemisphere counterpart to the southern cross.
- First Lieutenant Trent Harris
- Once a city rat in New Del Rio, Trent Harris watched as a rival gang killed his friends. Desperate, and not having anything else to live for, he volunteered for Juicer conversion in the Del Rio militia. He deserted not long after discovering that his enlistment was, in Juicer terms, a lifetime enlistment. He met up with Steve Mitchell outside the Lone Star military complex, and Trent quickly became Steve's right hand man. It was only natural for Trent to be given the second-in-command slot when the North Star Company was formed.
- Second Lieutenant Kasia Harnell
- A young, yet extremely powerful Mind Melter running from a past she has yet to reveal to her friends, Kasia Harnell almost quite literally ran into Steve Mitchell and his team in Odessa. Not having anywhere else to turn, and grudgingly grateful to Steve for fending off the Coalition's Dog Packs that had detected her, she latched herself onto Steve's team. During their adventures, her gratefulness quickly turned to love, a feeling he soon reciprocated. While she has softened around Steve, she maintained a hard edge to the rest of the world, becoming Steve's aide de campe and "drill sergeant" to the North Star Company.
Recently, Kasia has "retired" from active duty with the company.
- Second Lieutenant Ch'Dith
- To say that Dragons keep their secrets to themselves is to say that the sea is wet or that people died when the Rifts first came, and this one is no exception. He encountered the group that would later form the core of the NSC when a transformation spell wore out slightly faster than intended, and chose to join them on their journey for reasons he never explained. His inborn abilities make him a formidable ally, and his level-headed nature and unique perspective make his advice -- when sought and given -- a valuable commodity.
On the other hand, his drive to alleviate the suffering of friends and protect them from harm seems to burn with an intensity that is frightening to watch. All the members of the NSC save him have their mental scars to deal with. Maybe his are simply hidden deeper beneath the surface? Who knows...
- Chief Warrant Officer Vander Took
- A Hobbit from Middle Earth, Vander Took was enslaved by the Coalition mere hours after arriving on Rifts Earth. While under the Coalition's iron boot, the only person to show Vander any kindness was Steve Mitchell. Steve managed to finagle the Coalition to have Vander assigned to him as the Hovertank's mechanic for a long-term mission. Following that mission, when Steve was forming the North Star Company, Vander faked his own death to escape from slavery. Since then, he has stayed with Steve's North Star Company as the quintessential foul-mouthed grease monkey, as well as starting his own company, HobbiTech.
- Chief Warrant Officer Jalil Lalarun
- Jalil Lalarun graduated from the Chi-Town University of Medicine with an M.D. in Cybernetics. However, even then, he never toed the party line, prefering to operate a "free clinic" Downside rather than working for the Chi-Town Hospital in the upper levels of the mega-city. He refused to pay a corrupt ISS Inspector's extortion demand, and was arrested for "operating an illegal body-chop-shop". Jalil managed to prove that his clinic had always remained above-board (even though a few of his clients had received cybernetic systems). In order to save face, the court revoked his Coalition citizenship and expelled him from Chi-Town. After that, he wandered the continent before taking a position as the medic for a mercenary unit, Maggie's Marauders, before they splintered. When the North Star Company bought a tract of land for their headquarters, they found Jalil living in the infirmary. He has accepted the position of Medical Officer with the NSC.
- Warrant Officer Anya Morchenko
- Anya is probably the member of the team who's had the most interesting (in the Chinese sense) life. Born in Lone Star, she had a reputation as a bit of an eccentric, but was still slated to join the Coalition Army at age eighteen. When her older brother was killed due to what appeared to be Coalition negligence, Anya fled to El Paso, where her natural curiosity shone through. When an expedition was organized down to old Mexico to "find vampires", Anya joined the expedition, which led to her being the only "survivor". She met up with the NSC at Fort Reid, helped in a few of their hijinks, and believes she's found the true meaning of life (or maybe that's just another one of her manic spells).
- Warrant Officer Will Robinson
- Will's most basic characteristic is the curiosity of a 5-year-old. It was this that caused him to enter academia back home in Lazlo, this that caused him to sign up for field work. This drove him to sign up with the new North Star Company when he was rescued by them after said field work went slightly awry. He primarily enjoys recording the group's actions, as well as the beings they meet and the territory they explore. He contributes, in return, his knowledge base and trained mind to help with solving the problems the company encounters.
- Warrant Officer Vix Devaris
- Petty criminal, mystic, and pothead, Vix Devaris (aka. Vix Vappirub) is the NSC's resident priestly-type. His motives for much of what he does are vague, at best. Despite the fact that he was never formally hired for any particular reason, he commonly accompanies the Company on missions, acting as a medic, combatant (although not one of above-average skill), and mystic. Essentially a loose cannon, he is apparently staying with the Company simply as a way of annoying the Coalition, although he may have an alterior motive that he has not acted upon yet. His rank of Warrant Officer is strictly honorary, and he is considered by all to be outside the normal chain of command.
- Staff Sergeant Reed Somerset
- Reed Somerset was once a private investigator in Newtown, before he stumbled across some Coalition involvement in one of his cases. In order to ensure that nobody believes him, they implanted him with M.O.M. implants. Not long after gaining the implants, he signed on with the North Star Company when they passed through Newtown, and hasn't regretted it since.
Reed has since had the M.O.M. implants removed, and, after a short period of "detox", has started a private investigator's practice in the city of Worth.
- Sergeant Ru'ach Kadur-Esh
- Ru'ach Kadur-Esh first encountered the core of the NSC when she attempted to pick Steve's pocket in New Del Rio, outside the town courthouse. This earned her Kasia's emnity, and the two are constantly fighting. Ru's biggest problem is her lack of confidence, but her relationship with Trent may help this.
- Corporal Rick Henkerton
- Corporal Rick Henkerton was raised in the Coalition State of Missouri, near the Kingston border. He was conscripted at age 18 into the Coalition Army, and was assigned to the Witchita Falls base when his platoon picked a fight with several of the founding members of the Company. After the fight, Henkerton defected from the Coalition, and joined the fledgling NSC.
- Corporal Evelyn D'Artis

- Private Chadrick Gaelim
- Chadrick is a twentysomething Conjurer with the maturity and sex drive of a seventeen-year-old. He was staying with Jalil when the base was still abandoned for treatment for a long run of consecutive injuries, mostly sustained when Chad managed to annoy someone bigger than he was. Having nothing better to do, he signed on with the North Star Company when it moved into the base.
Chad had a short-lived career with the NSC, and left the Company to accompany Aengaela back to her people.
- Private Aengaela
- While on an escort assignment, the North Star Company had found itself enjoying a brief rest stop in an uncharted village of winged humanoid D-Bees that soon found itself under attack by a Coalition extermination force. Aengaela's father was the town leader, and her older sister was the village Protector, a rank that included being the leader of the village militia. During the brief battle, Aengaela's father was killed, instantly promoting her sister to being the leader. Aengaela signed on with the Company to learn the family business. A caring and charming girl who takes in the world around her with the curiosity of a cat, Aengie often brings smiles to those around her without even trying. Still, there is a touch of anger burning in her towards the Coalition, an anger she still has trouble controlling sometimes.
Aengaela has finished her training with the NSC, and has left the Company to take her place as the village Protector.
- Private Tyler McCain

- Private Tryamour

- Daniel Phelps
- Daniel Phelps is an easy-going Grackletooth who was hired by Vander Took for HobbiTech when the hobbit was starting the company. Under the diminutive hobbit's tutelage, he soon became a good repairman of robot vehicles and power armor. Although officially hired for HobbiTech, and not the North Star Company, he has accepted the fact that working for a member of the NSC means working for the NSC itself at times. His large size often intimidates new members, but his easy-going nature quickly puts others at ease.
- Robert Andrews
- Robert Andrews was hired by Vander Took for HobbiTech when the hobbit was starting the company. Under the diminutive hobbit's tutelage, he soon became a wizard at repairing, building, and modifying weaponry. He tends to have more patience than most people, taking nearly everything in stride. Not even the appearance of a dragon in the compound has surprised him.
- Harvey Smith
- Harvey Smith was hired by Vander Took for HobbiTech when the hobbit was starting the company. Under the diminutive hobbit's tutelage, he discovered he had a knack for auto and motorcycle mechanics. Harvey doesn't really care about the NSC's missions, so long as he has his paycheck.
- Fred Culligan
- Fred was hired by Vander Took to man the North Star Company's front office in the city of Worth. As such, he is considered support personnel. One thing that endears him to the rest of the company is his quirky sense of humor.
- Asmor
- Asmoranomardacadistanaculadacar, "Asmor" for short, is a mage with a habit for cooking. She is willing to fight, after a fashion, but mainly stays on as a cook. She claims she can make anything taste good, and the members of the NSC have little reason to doubt her.
