The Jihaddiverse
What is the Jihaddivnerse, you ask? Good question. Expecting an answer? Yeah, I thought you were.
The Jihaddiverse is the "Shared Reality" aspect of the newsgroup alt.barney.dinosaur.die.die.die. The group is a forum for bashing the most hated of kids shows, "Barney and Friends". A side-reel aspect is the inclusion of Saban's Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers as "allies" of Barney. The term "Jihaddiverse" comes from the primary anti-Barney force, "The Jihad to Destroy Barney the Purple Dinosaur". I used to be a member, retiring from the group in '97.
The use of the term "Jihad" is not meant to offend anyone of the Muslim faith.
Listed below are a number of the stories I and others have written for the Jihaddiverse:
-
- This will be posted when I find it. In it, my Jihaddiverse character, Arsenal, responds to an alert at the La Brea tar pits.
-
- The sequel to "A Dip at La Brea", in which Arsenal discovers what Baby Bop and the Loved Ones were after. Guest appearance by RACC's own Dvandom Stranger.
Fall of the Power Rangers
- Ah... the Saga to End the Rangers. In it, the Pink Ranger discovers the truth about the Ranger's benefactor, and quits the team.
- Postcards from the Dark Side
- Assault on the Dark Side
- Defection from the Dark Side
- A Light in the Dark Side
- Fall of the Dark Side
Shadow Ranger: Return to Angel Grove - The Shadow Ranger (the Pink Ranger from Fall of the Power Rangers), has found herself in the mainstream Jihaddiverse timeline, and a member of the Jihad. Can she go back to her roots? And does she even want to?
Operation: Rio
- The magic-wielding alien Lyrans, backed by their ally B'Harne and his Sponge-Minion followers, have taken control of Argentina, giving them a strategic position in South America. While the rest of the world is shocked into inaction, the Jihad steps in to clean up the mess.

- For myself, Pat Stewart (not the bald guy), and Mike Davis, this is our final Jihaddiverse writing. It's still in progress. Many of you will note similarities between this and my novel-in-progress, The Andromeda Venture. This is not exactly coincidental. It's not uncommon for those of us writing in the Jihaddiverse to use items from other writing venues in our Jihaddiverse stuff.
