okay. It is now a few days later, and you're back on the material plane. * Neil sits in the quiet cabin of his ship. The deck sits before him, a sole candle is lit. in addition to the stuff in the loot file, you have a cargo hold of stuff to sell. * Curuar inventories the arrows he stuffed into the Effecient Quiver. If they're all the same type, he'll just get a count of them. If there are different types, he'll put them back in a manner that will give his draws the best stopping power * Josh rather cheerfully swabs the deck. * Neil calls for Bourne. The fleet has scattered upon returning to the material plane; the _Horizon_ has met up with the _Rajni Natesa_ upon returning, and the two ships are now en route to Caer Ritaegno * Bourne heads over to Neil. "What's up?" * Curuar is on look-out duty, as usual Wynn is now on board the _Horizon_, and while a medusa wearing glasses is an odd sight, no more so than other sights this crew has seen. What about Keegis? "I'm going to draw from this deck." Keegis was last seen on the deck of the _Cold Steel_. *to Neil* "..." Unstoned? "I'd like to be barricaded inside." Unstoned. "...why? Isn't it something to be done only under duress? Such things tap into powerful forces." * Neil looks to Bourne. "It's just something I have to do." * Neil hands Bourne his bag of Holding. * Bourne takes it and rubs his neck, looking at Neil. "Can you promise me whatever happens won't tear the ship apart?" "These things are yours for the time being. That's everything aside from the deck. If I die, please redistribute everything." "No, no of course not." ... "No you can't promise or no it won't? If the former, can you wait until we've landed?" * Che-Chen comes up behind Neil. "Sounds pretty serious.." "Fine, get me a rowboat." * Neil rises, walking outside grumblingly. "I guess we can spare a dinghy in the name of academic curiosity." * Che-Chen looks to Bourne. "Want me to accompany him?" * Josh avoids Neil by conveniently swabbing the far side of the deck. * Bourne looks over at Che-Cen. "The fewer dead the better, right?" * Bourne signals to have the dinghy prepared. "Let it out on the end of a long line." * Neil is already lowering the dingy into the water. "Well, I have a way of getting out of trouble. Sometimes I even bring other people along for the trip, y'catch?" *to Che* "If you want to. Don't get eaten by anything bigger than you." * Arianna yawns, and wanders on board. "Morning, cutters." "What about the pirhanas?" * Neil is in his undergarments right now, his wings wrapped around him to fend off the wind. He holds the deck in his clawed hand greedily. * Che-Chen jumps over the side of the deck, next to Neil's dihgny. : . o O (What is this about? He seems so eager to take the risk.) "Hello!" (Ari: we're underway, actually... it's been a few days) * Neil grins. "Today's the day!" * Curuar looks down, sights Neil, wishes he hadn't, and lokks elsewhere ( Ah ) -k +o * Neil hops excitedly as the boat hits the water. ( you loko elsewhere? ) %) * Che-Chen climbs onto Neil's rowboat without rocking it muchly. * Bourne . o O ( It's a mitzvah, I guess. A sort of holy act? The world takes all kinds, I suppose. ) "Hey there." ^_- * Bourne watches as the boat is spooled out to the end of the line. "Help me row. Fifty feet should do, with a line attached to the boat." "Suresure" He grabs the oars and begins to help. "So.. what's got your sails all tangled this morning?" The boat is released, and the two of you find yourselves, after a time, a good hunded feet behind the ships. * Josh glances sidelong as the dinghy becomes visible over the prow from where he's standing. Curiousity seems to get the better of his distaste for the subject. "I'm drawing from the deck." "Are you ready?" ( *shuffles* ) "What deck?" * Neil sits at the bottom of the boat, making damned sure his wings block the wind from the cards. Before Che can finish asking, Neil has drawn his card. * Arsenal oocly *cackles* * Neil looks around cutrly, eyeing the card. Neil: your card comes up, displayinga young blonde maiden with hair down to her ankles reclining on the back of a creature. This creature seems to have the heads of a king, a dragon, a maiden, a knight, and a skull. The tail of the creature ends in a snake's head; the maiden on the back of it seems to be leaning in under the tail. the caption of the card reads "Lust". "Lust." "Not really my style... close though." "I don't feel anything, don't worry." * Neil hands the deck to Che. "Your turn." "Well.." * Che-Chen turns the deck over in his hands... "I told Bourne I'd keep you out of trouble..." "Come now, it's not so bad." "I'm perfectly fine." "But I could never resist a card game." *winks rougishly* * Che-Chen pulls 3 cards. "Wait." "Just one." "Huh? Heard rumour it works differently." "Then fine, I shall have one of yours, each of us two." "Test to see who's luck's better?" (just one; I don't want to describe these cards in detail) (Okay) "Nevermind. Just one please." "Let's not tempt the fates in quints." "If you say so." (if this was Face to Face, I'd be having you draw from my own deck) "Perhaps in a fortnight we will draw again." * Che-Chen shuffles dexterously and draws from the middle of the deck. (I expect you to do the same Ars!) Che: you draw from the deck. Your card depicts a young woman wielding a sword emerging from a tombstone. Swirls of color surround her, all in earth- tones. Without warning, the figure leaps from the card; she appears as a female, but with a smooth marble-like skin, almost as an animate statue. .... * Che-Chen glances at Neil. "Abandon ship?" * Neil suddenly has a large growth through his undergarments. Congrates, Che, you have an earth elemental in female form at your command. "You can..um..leave me alone with this one if you want.." "It's my card." "I mean this..this perfect specimen of.." "Stone?" "Goddess! It's a goddess!" * Bourne eyes the appearance of a third entity on the dinghy, wonders what it will do. * Che-Chen looks at the woman/statue. "You're not a goddess, are you?" She's completely silent She does, however, look at you quizzically . o O (That looks like it could be trouble.) * Che-Chen pats the seat beside him. "You gonna keep standing like that? Could fall overboard..." She sits down, but still has that puzzled look on her face. * Che-Chen drapes an arm over her shoulders. "So... what's your name, dollface?" * Josh goes back to scrubbing the deck with his mop. He doesn't see that, nope, nope. "Well, at least it's not killing anyone. At the moment." "...I hope it stays that way, Sir." * Curuar wonders what Neil and Che are up to out there. That strange woman with them can't mean good things The dinghy is brought back to the ship; Neil seems to be fawning over the stone girl, and Che seems to be trying to get it to talk. She is following Che's directions, and seemingly oblivious to Neil. * Bourne eyes her. * Che-Chen helps the woman onto the deck. "I don't think she understands me." "Well, she should get along great with Wynn." * Josh makes a sign of Yohevohe in the general direction of the woman, as if warding, and shudders. "You think the medusa can speak her language?" She looks at Che, and says something in an odd tongue. Her voice seems questioning. "I don't recognize that tongue. Is she a product of the card Neil drew?" "Oh, the medusa? Maybe." "No, I drew a card" Is it...safe? *quietly reassures himself that the sword he had when they attacked the Vault is at his hip* * Bourne calls over to the medusa. "Wynn, do you by any chance recognize this tongue?" He nods at the girl. "...Che, could you ask her to speak? She seems to only be paying attention to you." "Oh.." "Hmm." * Che-Chen makes nonsense noises as he flaps his fingers up and down, then gestures to her. The stone girl gets a really puzzled her on her face as Che does this, and seems to ask a question. "It sounds like it might be Terran, but I don't know how enough of it to translate." "Terran?" "Hm. Wonder if she speaks any other elemental languages.." * Bourne hmms. * Che-Chen starts making bubbly gurgling noises. (trying to say "hello" in Aquan?) (Yep) She smiles, and replies in kind. * Bourne brightens, as the language barrier seems to have been resolved. "Thanks for your help, Wynn." Huh... (don't forget quotes, though) * Che-Chen makes wooshing, wispy noises, almost as if he's speaking with controlled breathing. "" * Josh watches, having forgotten he's supposed to be mopping. Though he clearly doesn't understand a word of it. "Che, would you be okay with acting as a translator later? I've never met an elemental before..." he looks over Che... "...a wild one, at any rate... and I've been curious as to their philosophy about spells of control and service." Again, she replies in kind. "" * Curuar decides that Bourne and the others will yell if they need him, keeps wwatching the horizon -w * Che-Chen blinks at Bourne. "Control and service?" (Summon Monster, Summon Nature's Ally, etc) (or the GURPS Summon ___ Elemental) (I know what the spells are, their use concerns Che :D) * Bourne hastily clarifies, "I'm not interesting in doing anything of the sort to her. In fact, I want to learn how elementals feel about such things so I can employ them, if I ever do, more ethically." "I mean, is she enslaved? Is she willing? Has the deck done something to her? Did she strike a bargain with someone?" * Che-Chen nods. "Alright then." "...I.. enslaved?" They're servants of God. I doubt they like being commanded by magic. * Che-Chen turns to look at her and switches to Auran. "Are you enslaved to me?" "I am bound to serve, due to the card, for a time." "" "I am bound for a time. Your wish cannot change that." * Arianna pipes up. "You could always ask her what she wants to do, then order her to do that." "Uh.. okay then... I like my..." Che seems to have trouble with the next word, whatever it is to those not speaking Auran "servants.. to be free willed, so that they can contribute to intelligent discussions and provide opinions." She nods. "" * Josh moves over next to Arianna, and whispers, "Can you understand them, ma'am?" "You may call me Elena." "" "No, I am not. I am the living embodiment of that card, a warrior of stone given female form by the magic of the deck." "She's hot!" "You mean you didn't have a life before the card?" * Che-Chen glances at Neil then back to Elena. "I did, but not in this form." * Bourne . o O (Well, she is easy on the eyes. For a statue.) "" * Josh eyes Neil, muttering something about perverted animals. "I cannot, until my time in this form is over, at which point I will be released." "Even I am uncertain of the terms of my servitude." "" "I do. What are you intending?" "" "I do not see where that would be advantageous. I am bound to serve for a time; when my time is over, I will know." (anyone else doing anything?) "" I'm up in the crows nest Presuming Che is deep in conversation rather than translating for our benefit at the moment, my academic curiosity can wait until later. I'll be about ship's business and let them talk. * Josh is watching. He pretty much wants to know what's going on, but really should be getting back to his own duties. The deck won't swab itself, and there's probably pleanty of other stuff a cabin boy should be at. "I have always been patient. Those that arranged my binding are no longer available." "" * Josh approaches Bourne while Che-Chen is talking, keeping one eye and ear on that conversation despite his clear inability to understand a word of it. "Captain? " * Elena gets a puzzled look on her face. "I am uncertain, actually. None of the entities who I made the contract with are present." "Yes, Josh?" "" "I, um *swallows*, know that the purpose for raiding the Vault was to get access to the artifacts my people have gathered and stored, and that there must be some misguided actions associated with its hoarding, but do you think it wise to be releasing...everything...back into the world? Some of the things in our hold - like what summoned the Elemental woman..." "...are very dangerous. They... well, I am sorry if I presume too much, Sir, but shouldn't we perhaps find a new hiding place for them?" * Josh catches his breath after practically exhaling that nervous schpiel. "Ye've got a point, but there's potential for much good too, Josh. Best way to figure out which is which is to educate ourselves. Now, how to go about doing that, that's going to be a bit of a problem." "Maybe there's a place where we can have them studied?" * Bourne gets a wry look on his face. "Most of the hoard is now in the hands of the other crews anyway, so there's nothing we can do about that. I... understand your concerns, but... " he trails off. (Caer Ritaegno Ministry of Magic?) Aldhoma University, High Energy Magic Department? ;) "...well, frankly I can't argue with you about the Deck of Many Things. That thing's a menace. My only response is, you try taking it from Neil." *sigh* "...you're right, of course, Captain. I should just have faith that God has a plan for it. I'm sorry for bothering you with it. ... Is that an order, Sir?" * Josh seems just a -bit- too hopeful that it is. "No, it was sarcasm. I don't recommend trying." "Yessir." "Besides, I'm rather pleased that she showed up. I'm finding it an interesting opportunity to learn more about such creatures." "I remember one of them was a woman dressed in white and silver with long white hair, another was a hulking man in red, and a third was a figure hidden in black robes." (( ...why are you looking at me? )) * Che-Chen hmms. Che: Know (religion) check? (DC 10?) ( You mean 'Take 10'?) (I mean is the DC 10 or lower) (No. Why?) "By the way, Josh, Ari, I've got an announcement I'll be making later. I think of those in our crew, you too will be among those especially interested." (If not than I can't make the check) "Oh?" * Arianna perks up. ( Ther'es always a natural 20, isn't there? ) (No, you can't make untrained Knowledge checks for uncommon knowledge) "Sir?" (give me a roll, anyways; everyone's picked up trivia here and there) (I can, however, bring this up to someone with ranks) "Sorry to pique your curiosity and then leave you on tenterhooks, but it really should be open to all at once when I can get the crew together. Probably just after first evening bell. Still, I wanted to make sure you were there." (( And nat 20s and nat 1s are not auto successes and failures with skill checks. )) 1d20+4 * Prozac throws the bones for Che-Chen (1d20+4) and gets 16. "Of course, Sir." *smiles* ( Can more of us try a check? ) * Bourne sends a message via the cook to deliver to the crew: gather after the evening meal, there will be an announcement of general interest. ( Only if we're told what Che got told in a language we speak, I think. ) (I havn't translated yet) * Che-Chen turns to Bourne. "Hey, Cap'n..." "Yeah?" "Do you know who..." snaps his fingers a couple of times "Grangre and... Ha.. Hally.. Hollo... Ha'all! Do you know who Grangre and Ha'all are?" the bos'n calls four bells; shift change in the crow's nest "Well, yes. They're gods." "Elena says they created the Deck." * Curuar gets deck-side * Che-Chen turns back to Elena. "" ... *shivers* "...yes, that sounds like something those gods would make." * Curuar looks the statue woman over carefully, then sees about finding Bourne. * Arianna raises an eyebrow. * Josh makes his way below-decks, glancing surreptitiously behind him towards the knot of people around the elemental. Cur: Bourne's right there on deck *to Curuar* "Mm?" "Sir, who is the passenger? And what is she?" * Che-Chen turns back to Bourne. "She says that she's bound to a term of service by the cards and that when the term is up she's free. Although she's a little confused on when the term actually ends.." * Bourne indicates Che-Cen's answer for Curuar. "She's a summoned creature?" "Sort of... I pulled her from Neil's deck." "Made of stone and speaks Terran, so I'm guessing an elemental, though I've never seen one of that form." "I can't say I've ever seen an elemental. Is it safe?" "As safe as Che, I'd wager." "We're in trouble." *grin*] * Che-Chen grins. "By the way, you guys will probably want to hear the announcement too. Go have dinner, I'll talk to the men afterward." "Oh?" *wonders what Bourne's got to tell us* * Arianna nods. "Sure thing." * Curuar heads below deck to grab a bite, will wait until Bourne's ready to spill it* * Che-Chen turns back to Elena. "" I've got nothing else until announcement time. "Dinner? I do not require sustenance, milord." * Josh 's voice yelps from the cargo area, and a sound of some light crashing - as of shins over boxes - can be heard by those who've gone belowdecks. Followed by some nervous laughter. * Curuar changes direction to go see what Josh is up to the ship lurches slightly, and seems to slow "What the..." "Er.. Just call me Che-cen..." * Bourne glances up at the winds, then over the side at the currents. * Arianna blinks. * Curuar tries to keep his balance, then quickens his pace "" B: it's as if something's slowed down the ship. "I do not." "However, if your 'dinner' is as much for socializing as it is for sustenance, I will join you, milord." " ^_-" * Bourne heads to bow and stern to see if something's dragging. (who's in the hold with Josh?) "Excellent... and really... don't call me milord." Che blinks as he realizes he just gave her an order that restricts her personal freedom and blushes. "Er, that is... unless you like calling me that..." I am, by now * Josh is walking hastilly away from one section of the hold, face and ears bright red, by the time Curuar shows up. The boy doesn't notice the half-elf, instead swallowing and picking up a saber off of one of the crates. He holds it, testing its weight. Then makes some practiced - very practiced, in fact - cuts, almost showy. "Ah-ha! Have at you, knave!" he says to some phantom opponent. Cur: you see an immovable rod on the back wall of the hold. "Josh... what did you do?" it's about shoulder-height ( Ars: Uh, I turned that off after I caught it. ^^; He would have put it away. ) ( He'd not have left it there. ^^;; ) (pfft... and ruin my fun?) :/ :) B: not long afterwards, the ship resumes its course ( It could have hit the wall before he caught it... but he'd still have put it away before going for the sword. ) (but... Cur's question can still stand, as he did feel the lurch) And got there in time to see Josh blushing "Insult the fair lady's honor, will you? I'll have you walk the--" interrupts his mock-sword fighting and looks embarassedly over at Curuar. "Er, um... just, um, seeing how good the swords are?" +() (Yeah, I was typing reply, and kept interrupting it to reply OOC. ^^; Sorry. )( "You do not wish me to call you that, milord Che-cen?" * Curuar goes to the back of the hold, looks around to see if anything's been disturbed "Well no... makes me sound like... like a noble or something. I'd like you not to call me that, but it's up to you whether you do or not..." Cur: the box containing the immovable rods has been opened, and the top one's not situatuated like the others. * Josh very sheepishly and gingerly puts the sword back where he got it from. He then takes off a rather too-large belt and lays it back with some others that look similar. He looks like he might try to slink out the door. "Josh...) "I understand." She offers you her arm, a very human gesture. "Shall we, then?" -) +" * Josh stops eyeing the door and doesn't meet Curuar's eyes. "Sir?" "Come over here, please." * Josh swallows and complies, ears burning red again. * Curuar nods to the crate of I-Rods when Josh gets over there. "Do you know what these are?" * Che-Chen grins and entwines his arm with hers. "I'd be honored. ^_-" "Not exactly. .... But that one flew into the back of the ship before I could catch it when I pushed the button. I tried to catch it, but it didn't hurt anything, did it?" * Arianna looks over the rod. "Those things could be pretty useful. (not exactly "flew". more like "floated") *looks at Josh in an appraising manner* "Tell me. How do you feel? A bit shakey? Wobbley in the legs?" "I mean, I got it turned off and was going to put it away but it kind of scared me and I didn't want to accidently turn it on again..." "Sir? No, sir, I'm fine. Really." *shakes just a bit with a combination of nerves and embarassment at being caught playing with the evil magic items* (the ship is only moving at about 5 mph or so) ( It flew in that he couldn't catch it before it hit the back wall, so nyah. :P ) (That's 50 feet per round. :D) "You're certain?" *finds a piece of canvas, uses it to keep from directly touching the out of place rod as he repositions it before closing the crate lid* (over a few crates, I can see) * Che-Chen heads belowdecks to the messhall with Elena on his arm. ( Ars: Exactly. ) (okay... Bourne, you gonna give your idea during dinner or after? If it's after, we can skip forward 'till then) "P-positive, sir. I'm sorry, sir. I won't do it again." *stares down at his bare toes - which, surprisingly, aren't as red as the rest of him* (wwait until Josh and I are done) * Arianna places a hand on Josh's shoulder. "You alright? Need to rest for a bit or something?" Just after is fine. * Josh shrugs out from under her hand. "Fine, ma'am. Really. I just, um, --sorry for getting into things." "Alright. Just remember this. Never play with unfamiliar equipment. ESPECIALLY these! They're Soul Rods. They activate by breaking off a piece of the user's soul, then fly off to deliver that piece to their maker." * Arianna blinks. * Josh looks up at Curuar, face looking caught between smiling at a joke and trying hard not to smile. "Yes, sir. Of course, sir." Session Time: Sat Oct 15 00:00:00 2005 (crate is clearly marked "IMMOVABLE RODS") * Curuar id definitely not smiling. Looking very serious (Oh, sure. Ruin it) (Well obviously they aren't immovable. They were moved onto the boat weren't they?) ( You push the button, then they can't move. ) ( You can use a pair as a ladder. ) * Josh looks down at his toes again. Now just trying not to laugh at Curuar's expression. "What's so funny? " * Josh coughs, and forces his face to seriousness. "Nothing, sir." (Well when he pushed the button it flew off to deliver a piece of his soul.) ( There you go, then. It serves two useful funcitons in one press of a button. ) (Indeed) * Che-Chen hits on Elena very carefully over dinner. "Left's go get some dinner. Bourne has an announcement to make later." * Bourne orders a sounding taken after dinner to make absolutely sure they're not about to run aground on or into anything if he calls the hands away from the rigging and the crow's nest for a moment, then afterward has the bo's'un signal to gather everyone on deck so he can address them from the foc's'le. 1d20+8 * Prozac throws the bones for Che-Chen (1d20+8) and gets 11. (That was a Bluff check for hitting on her. >_>) * Josh nods. "Yessir." He heads out, eyeing the sword he was playing with on his way. * Bourne ly laughs at the line his mp3 player queues up while Che-Cen is hitting on Elena. o/) I'll teach you the proper poise when you talk to boys / little ways to flirt and flounce... o/) (Heh) ( POPULAR! ) * Josh joins the rest of the crew after dinner to hear Bourne's announcement. He does try to stay closer to Arianna and the human crewman than to the non- and half-human crewmen, though. And avoids Neil like a plague. Che: Elena seems to be completely oblivious to your attempts to hit on her; either that, or she finds them amusing. You can't be certain. * Arianna listens closely. * Bourne looks over the gathered crew. . o O (Hmm, I didn't know we had so many... no, calm down, you know all these people. Think of heads of state, great communicators... just breathe....) (FF to after dinner) (Final Fantasy to after dinner?) (( *laughs at Bourne's Popular reference, yet again* )) (fast forward) "Crew of the _Horizon_: we are victorious." A cheer goes up among the crew. * Curuar waits to hear the rest before giving any kind of response "Our mission has been profitable and without significant casualties. We go now back to Caer Ritaegno with a hold ready to be analyzed, and such items as are safe for public dispersal sold to restock and refit the ship for our next mission. We have each personally done well for ourselves." * Josh grins cheerfully and cheers along with the rest of the crew. ^_^ * Che-Chen hoots and hollars. Wynn smiles from in the rear of the crowd, adjusting her own spectacles. * Curuar has to agree with that part, moderately applauds "It is our next mission about which I address you tonight. We seized the _Horizon_ under letter of marque duly issued by Caer Ritaegno, and under the laws of that nation we are honest men. But I, personally, would prefer to undertake a life recognized as honest by all men, while still seeking adventure and profit." . o O (Adventure AND profit? What's he got in mind...?) (Adventure = Profit *points to Character Wealth by Level) "It is my intent, when we put in at our home port, to register the _Horizon_ as a ship of exploration and trade. The world is wide and has many opportunities for sailors of courage. There are profitable expeditions to the exotic lands of the Far East. To the West lie untamed lands that explorers have yet to unveil." "Every man here is a free man who may come and go as he pleases with the prizes he has won. If you wish to continue under Captain Davies' letter, or seek service with another crew, you may. If you wish to serve on the _Horizon_ as a ship of its new calling, I will welcome you. I ask each man who wishes to stay to make his decision known to me before we reach port. That is all." * Josh goes practically starry-eyed at the idea. "I've made mine." * Bourne dismisses the men to their shifts and time off, as the case may be, and steps down to the deck. * Che-Chen stands up. * Arianna smiles. * Che-Chen points a finger at Bourne. "Let me tell you where you and your boat can go, Bourne." * Che-Chen looks very stern. * Bourne looks back at Che-Cen stoically. . o O (He'd be a bummer to lose.) * Curuar mulls it over, doesn't see how it will be much different from any other nautical endeavor. Besides, the sea's all he really knows. . o O (And just what would I do for extended periods of time on land?) "You can go wherever the hell you please... cause I'm perfectly happy exploring in the comfort of the Horizon." * Che-Chen grins and extends his hand to Bourne. * Bourne is relieved and unabashedly shows it. "It's good to have you aboard." He shakes Che-Cen's hand. "And the same goes for me, sir!" "Yeah, who else will do all the fishing?" * Josh runs up and skids to an ungraceful halt, saluting Bourne. "I'm in, Captain!" ^_^ *to Josh* "I thought you'd like it, yes." * Josh chuckles - certainly not a giggle, no, really. "I'd be happy to continue to serve and provide guidance. Best to get to know this world before taking bigger steps in my quest." "You would be most welcome." That's all I had for now. I'll want to hear everything about Elena from Awakening-of-Earth-spirits to Zoology-of-the-Earth-plane later. Things will pick up on my end when we get to -- oh, no, wait, there are a couple of things to do before we get to port. Wynn approaches. "I will be disembarking when we reach port." * Josh edges away from Wynn ever so slightly. "Sir, I should go and complete my duties before taking my rest shift. If you'll excuse me?" "Are you sure that's wise? I mean, you certainly can if you want to, but do you have somewhere to go? Your home is back on that pirate's gathering island, right?" * Bourne nods absently at Josh. * Josh turns, leaping slightly soas not to rub his heel against the wood, and scampers off, grinning excitedly. "Actually, come to think of it I suppose taking passage on one of our colleagues' ships *would* be the best way to get you back there." girdle of opposite gender. girdle of opposite gender. ( mt) She thinks. "I have a relative along the Marach border; I shall head there first." "Really? That's... good to know. If you see what I mean." "You know, Wynn, you might try seeking out an enchanter to have those specs copied. It's neat to be able to talk to one of your species face to face. I've been meeting all kinds of interesting people on this trip." * Bourne . o O (Duras was three kinds of interesting all by himself, for instance....) "Most of my kind are not the kind who would be interested in, sadly. Hannass, it appears, was careless again." Is that a common phrase whose meaning I should know? (yes) What does it mean? (( Yes. Hannas is the goddess of reincarnation. )) (( She often gets accused of being careless when someone doesn't reflect the standards of their race. Put a soul of something else in the wrong body. )) Aah. (So Hitler should have been a kobold?) ("Many a paladin's soul has screamed in horror when placed into a goblinoid body." (( No, an Illithid. )) ( She put Josh in the right body, I think. Not that Josh thinks she had anything to do with his soul and his body. ) "Maybe not. I believe that people of all kinds have the chance to make their mark. People like you, Wynn, can better their race for the future. I wish you luck and success wherever you choose to travel." * Bourne thinks Josh's earlier comment about the items they've collected was, in fact, a pretty good idea. Before they get to port, he drafts Neil and Ari to go through the items they collected from the Vault that haven't been personally claimed; anything that isn't of obvious type should be identified and scanned for alignment, or as Bourne would probably put it, infernal origin. * Curuar has quit IRC (Read error: Connection reset by peer ) Anything evil gets burned. Anything that doesn't burn gets melted. Anything that doesn't melt gets dunked in a keg of tar weighted down with scrap iron and tossed overboard. * TFB71` has joined #highseas * Che-Chen puts a hand on Elena's shoulder. "If you'll excuse me, I'm going to sleep now. You're ah... free to do as you wish..." re * Arsenal sets mode: +o TFB71` * Josh is in there once or twice more, poking at things and trying on rings - maybe playing with a sword or two - but stops after a mysterious crack of thunder from there that he didn't have anything to do with, honest.
