[Arsenal] -------------- no sharks were harmed in the making of this session --- ---------- But weresharks were! (Shh!) "I'm grabbing my staff from my bunk updeck. Somebody want to come watch my back?" ---------------------- On the other hand, plenty of weresharks were ----------------- [Arsenal] You're in a narrow hallway, two abreast. One dead/dying wereshark in front of you. "I'll accompany you." "'k." "Sorry about that arrow, Monika." * Veshengo looks around. "Do that. And I thought ironwood would be strong enough to keep these things out." * Bourne turns and heads updeck, waiting for Neil. * Neil cracks his knuckles, the static shocking his own hands slightly as he does, following bourne "It's all right. It only hurts when gnomes shoot into a swordfight." [Arsenal] Curuar's a half-elf, not a gnome * Bourne creeps to the edge of the ladder, pokes his head out and looks around to see if any weresharks are on the deck. s/gnomes/half-elves/ [Arsenal] Glim's the gnome, keep your games separate heh [Arsenal] ^_^ If not seeing any, he'll dash across to the door to his and Neil's cabin. [Arsenal] you're not seeing any weresharks, but you hear one not too far away Where? * Curuar stows the bow and pulls out his short and long swords [Arsenal] listen check? 3d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Bourne (3d6) and gets 14. If anybody looks, he points down again. * Monika perks her head up at Bourne, then nods as he gives the direction. * Curuar looks and takes a Listen 1d20+1 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Curuar (1d20+1) and gets 12. * Bourne dashes across the deck to his cabin now. Gullom [Arsenal] B: it seems someone has just ransacked your place, but your staff is untouched. "...Well that's weird." He grabs his staff and checks his cash. [Arsenal] B: cash is there, too... [Arsenal] whatever these sharks are after, it's not magic items or cash "Didn't take the cash. What were they after, then?" They're after my robot bee! (They're after yo momma!) He takes a few more precious seconds to don his jacket, eyes his boots but decides to skip them. "Okay, Neil. You're the battle chief, I'm behind you now." * Neil heads back downstairs "what's that staff of yours do anyhow?" "Hits stuff." (I like that.) Staff of Gatling Fireballs? :) [Arsenal] were the rest of you waiting for them, or were you headed down? (Staff of SCORCHING RAY!) And I can tell you right now, he can't possibly do worse than her. d20+12 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Veshengo (d20+12) and gets 27. 1d20+8 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Curuar (1d20+8) and gets 13. [Arsenal] well, the nearest shark, you can figure, is one deck down and astern. [Arsenal] and please, do not roll until asked! [Arsenal] as the roll might not be necessary 'k But I *like* rolling! ;_; [Arsenal] okay, a little down and towards the back, you come across the next were-shark. its back is turned, and it's slowly going through the crew quarters. What's it looking for? * Curuar motions for the others not to attack [Arsenal] Mon: you can't tell, as it's tossing everything aside. * Curuar quietly sets his swords where he can get them and brings up his bow * Neil ducks low, readying himself * Monika readies herself for liberal buttkicking. *muttered under her breath* "And me without a shark gaff." "Monika leads the way with blade and boot!" * Veshengo ducks down, drawing his weapons and ready to charge the creature. "Bourne will take care of the details." * Curuar draws back an arrow and sights in on the wereshark [Arsenal] okay, everyone roll init. 3d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Bourne (3d6) and gets 9. * Monika decides to let Cu take the shot before she comes in. 1d20+3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Monika (1d20+3) and gets 15. 1d20+3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Curuar (1d20+3) and gets 13. [Arsenal] Bourne's up "Make it thirsty!" * Veshengo dodges most of the blood with a backflip onto the wall then another to land where he was standing earlier. The bunk, on the other hand, is still covered in the stuff. * Bourne begins concentrating, watching the fight and trying to ignore Neil's shouted comment. Yes, first round of the two-round casting for Dehydrate. [Arsenal] okay.... [Arsenal] 1d20 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Arsenal (1d20) and gets 20. * Veshengo grins. "How do you like that?" Burn my bow?" * Veshengo smirks. "Nice job. And I wouldn't do that quite yet." * Bourne does a delicate bit of fingerwork like untying a knot, letting the spell puf out. If anything, you could sell it. [Arsenal] you hear the last two in the main hold. "Nay. Wait until we make port, buy a better one, and THEN burn your old one." "Let's stop talking and save this ship please." "Very well. I'd not be surprised to find it's cursed." * Neil turns around and goes for the main hold * Bourne follows Neil. * Curuar follows Neil * Monika follows Neil * Veshengo follows along. "Thankee, much obliged" * Veshengo overtakes him as well, staying close to the sides of the corridor. * Curuar keeps in step with Vesh ((He's impatient when the crew is being eaten.)) [Arsenal] it takes you no time to get there... "Two of them? Oh, good." [Arsenal] the two weresharks are opening up a crate. Only this time, they see you as you enter... "Everyone hang well back for a second. I'm going to soften them up. And I *know* this one will work." ((Are they standing close enough together to grease?)) [Arsenal] Neil: yes "Wait." [Arsenal] you can move around the front rank to flank, but not AoOs I mean when he gets up. [Arsenal] nope "Better stick to life in the water, <$obscene_adjective>" s/adjective/noun * Neil looks to the uninjured shark, grinning a grin that the nearby crew would swear he was still insane for wearing. It failed its resistance? 3d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Bourne (3d6-3) and gets 7. [Arsenal] it takes 3... d20 damage spells are usually save for half. [Arsenal] which is what I went with, as you were attacking a shark with dehydration (And because of their affinity to water, they may be more susceptable to the attack.) [Arsenal] *nod* 'k. [Arsenal] Monika's up * Monika attempts to gut the slowly cooking (and drying) shark properly... 1d20+9 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Monika (1d20+9) and gets 10. [Arsenal] ... I told you Dicey HATES me tonight! [Arsenal] her rapier breaks against the beast's hide Ars: It's a magic rapier, remember? does it get a saving throw at least? [Arsenal] 1d10 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Arsenal (1d10) and gets 8. [Arsenal] okay, instead of breaking, she drops it "I believe the phrase rhymes with 'clucking bell'." Uh... Breaking magic weapons is *very* rare. [Arsenal] the shark decides that cowardace is the better part of survival, and runs on all fours as best it can to clear the grease, and heads for the way up and out [Arsenal] AoOs are in order. ;) * Curuar tickles it's ribs with his swords [Arsenal] vesh, Monika and Cur are within range, as is bourne with is staff (Considering magic weapons are immune to damage except by another weapon of equal to or greater enchantment strength.) [Arsenal] +h * Monika , continuing to curse vehemently, kicks it in the butt. [Arsenal] you four may make one attack of opportunity against the shark * Veshengo tries to cleave it as best he can with a precise stroke to the chest. [Arsenal] 1d3 is usually for unarmed attacks 1d3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Curuar (1d3) and gets 2. (Kindly let me roll my own damage?) [Arsenal] yeah, Monika kicked, not you... Oops. Thought he meant the shot to the jimmies 1d3+2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Monika (1d3+2) and gets 3. ... [Arsenal] so that crit doesn't count [Arsenal] I never denied you the realdice option Roight. Just gotta go get 'em [Arsenal] as it is, the wereshark manages to get away, as the only one that hit was Monika's kick. He starts climbing the center rope [Arsenal] Neil, you're up * Neil takes a 5 foot step back, leading a faint red disc in his place. He spins about like a dervish, kicking the disc at the shark. It remains faint and intangible on its short trip there, but it then joins with the orb of electricity, turning into a sphere of flame. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Neil (2d6) and gets 3. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Neil (2d6) and gets 6. [Arsenal] Cur, you're up * Curuar tries to hit it in a vital spot if it's close enough 1d20+6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Curuar (1d20+6) and gets 15. [Arsenal] Cur: it's a ways away... [Arsenal] it *ran* to the center rope, and is starting to climb. Or just draw blood [Arsenal] you can't hit it with a melee weapon So it's not over the ocean yet, right? [Arsenal] Mon: right... 'k forget the attack, I climb up after it You'd have to, you know, get to it first. "Center rope"? [Arsenal] B: the rope that goes from the cargo hold to the top deck Ah. [Arsenal] Cur: suggestion, if I may? Drop the swords, draw the bow, and shoot it! Yeah. The bow got left on the floor ... [Arsenal] you didn't pick it up when you moved away from the last fight? Nope [Arsenal] *headshake* As bad I was doing with it you REALLY want me to habg onto it? [Arsenal] okay, it takes your entire action to move to the rope, you can't attack because it ended up being a double move. [Arsenal] Vesh is up Uh... Dangit man, you suck. As if everybody else telling you not to burn it wasn't a sign, UL. [Arsenal] 1d20 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Arsenal (1d20) and gets 15. * Veshengo jumps up above the rope and takes one quick slash with the kukri, trying to sever it before the shark can get out of the hold. "Sorry 'bout this Cur." (Unless I can't do that. ~_^) [Arsenal] Vesh: you're... leaping the distance Cur spent with a double move at least 10 feet high...? ((wait, dont I go after cur?)) Well... I jump, at least, 10 feet on a high jump. ((er, nm)) [Arsenal] it's at least 60 ft. away... And that's not including verticle reach. Is it? Damn, that thing's fast. Fine, I'm going to run over and jump up. Next round I'll cut the rope and land. Yeah, the whole ship is 80 ft long. * Arsenal d'ohs... forgot about that... ship's smaller than I remember. [Arsenal] okay, you *can* close the distance... [Arsenal] strike against the rope? d20+9 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Veshengo (d20+9) and gets 29. d20+9 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Veshengo (d20+9) and gets 22. [Arsenal] ... That's one severed rope. [Arsenal] dicey likes you tonight... [Arsenal] yes, it is ^_^_v [Arsenal] shark lands on Cur. "oh sereg." * Veshengo lands and turns to the shark. "You're not going anywhere, guppy." [Arsenal] Bourne's up "My clavin!" [Arsenal] *WHAP!* Shape Air. I spend the last of my spell energy on it, trying to push it horizontally off Cur. [Arsenal] 'k... spell skill roll? * Bourne windmills his arms madly. push it towards us 3d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Bourne (3d6) and gets 13. Pass. [Arsenal] you manage to roll it off Cur [Arsenal] 1d20+10 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Arsenal (1d20+10) and gets 21. [Arsenal] 1d10+4 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Arsenal (1d10+4) and gets 10. [Arsenal] a shot rings out from the upper deck, and the shark suddenly keels over dead. Anyone looking up will see the captain lowering his musket. * Monika picks up her rapier. "Great shot, sir." * Curuar picks himself up off the deck * Neil looks up to the cap'n. "Any more sir?" [Arsenal] "How many did you take down?" We got three Three, not including this one. "Three others asides your kill." "Three, not including this one." "We got three" [Arsenal] He nods. "That's all of them, then." "What are your orders now, sir?" * Curuar goes to retrieve his bow. Maybe he'll hang onto it for a while yet. [Arsenal] "Clean up the mess, and close that crate." * Monika searches the sharks' bodies. "What's in the crate?" * Bourne feelsa little empty. +[space] [Arsenal] "Never you mind that." "Unpleasantly like being drunk, Bourne?" * Veshengo shrugs. "One of the boys has a bloody bunk tonight." "Outta mana. Feels kind of like being naked." * Veshengo chuckles. * Neil gets to work casting prestidigitation to clean what was on their corpses? [Arsenal] the first mate runs up to the captain, and whispers something. The captain nods, and returns to work. * Curuar returns with his bow, wiping his swords clean [Arsenal] Mon: two of them are carrying swords, and one has a pouch filled with gems. what kind of swords? [Arsenal] scimitars. * Bourne sighs, heads updeck. * Veshengo swings his two blades in a series of motions, the blood falling off and all splattering in one place in front of him. He then sheathes them. Mmmm, scimmys. About how good are these scimitars? * Neil looks to Monika. "Shall we sell the gems at port and divvy the tally?" You could throw one to me to try it out. [Arsenal] one's rather rusty. "Yes, of course." * Monika tosses the non-rusted sword to Veshengo. "Don't see why not. I noticed they were using some scimitars. Any of them in decent condition? Anythin' that could stand up to water that long has got to be something special." * Veshengo catches it in a flourish. * Bourne sits on the weather deck in back, looking to the rear of the ship to see that one that was following. [Arsenal] the other has a decent balance and appears newer. (read: masterwork) [Arsenal] Bourne: it's still there "Life is far from fair," she mutters. "Good against a dragon, but shite against sharks." * Veshengo swings it a few times. "It's a good blade, but I already have a pair of them. Anyone else want it?" * Bourne just sits quietly, waiting for some energy to recharge. "I am no good with scimitars." Too bad, too bad... "Thank you, no. I already have a weapon." [Arsenal] life on board ship quickly returns to normal. Among the crew that was killed, two gobbos, a halfling, and a tiefling are among the dead. * Veshengo shrugs and stows it in his backpack. [Arsenal] (and if you can use all martial weapons, you can use a scimitar) * Curuar gets in added targeting practise on his off-duty hours (Yeah, but he might just plain prefer his longsword. It does more damage.) [Arsenal] (true) (But I haven't hit anything with it yet) [Arsenal] (is the longsword enchanted?) After an hour, I'll report to the captain that I have the juice to get the ship moving again, if we're still becalmed. (Nope. Regular longsword) * Neil gets some rest, starting to not mind being housed with the crew * Veshengo gets to work doing his duties. * Monika cleans her rapier thoroughly before resheathing it. [Arsenal] (might want to try the scimmy, then I then head up to skylark on deck * Curuar takes the scimi and gets Vesh to show him some pointers with it (Masterwork scimitar does what damage? ) (no additional damage, but it's +1 to hit) (d6+1, 18-20 crit) (Err, not that. (d6 damage, +1 to-hit, 18-20 x2 crit.) [Arsenal] plus Str bonus [Arsenal] the captain surprisingly doesn't seem to care that the other ship is still tailing you, and declines 'k [Arsenal] that was to Bourne * Veshengo swings Curuar the Scimitar and shows him a few tricks with it. Among which the various points along the blade to hit with for maximum damage. "And whatever you do, do NOT stab with it." "Yes. It doesn't look like it's made for impaling." "In that case, sir, permission to spend some training time while we're becalmed." [Arsenal] :Granted" [Arsenal] -:+" * Bourne heads to his cabin, puts up his staff, takes off his jacket, and does this. * Bourne , a little frustrated, looks for some of the militant spells. [Arsenal] training goes on until the cook declares dinner. The rest of the day and the night pass uneventfully... * Veshengo grins to Curuar. "Next time, don't stand under the shark though." ~_^ * Neil requests that the cook serve him some of the wereshark he killed (... Cannibal?) (Because, you know, were-creatures turn to human/elf/whathaveyou when they're killed. ^^;) ((Oh yeah, they're half man, aren't they? lol, cancel that)) "Next time, I'll keep hold of my bow." [Arsenal] come morning, the ballista is nearing completion on its repairs, the other ship is *still* tailing you, and storm clouds seem to be brewing on the southern horizon. "Speaking of which, how good are you with that thing?" Ars: Meteorology roll to be more specific? "I should be better with it than my preformance to date showed." [Arsenal] B: sure 3d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Bourne (3d6) and gets 8. Pretty good pass, assuming the ship has a few instruments. What are we looking at in approach time and intensity? "Ah, had your off days recently?" "It would seem that way." [Arsenal] well, in modern terms, it appears to be an oncoming bank of low-lying stratus clouds. Their movement is away from you, but you're heading towards them at a somewhat greater speed; figure by evening you'll be under them. "Cap'n, are we going to be boarding that ship sir?" Crud. And I have crows nest duty that night. [Arsenal] "Not any time soon." * Veshengo shrugs and goes about walking around the ship. "Is that where the sharks were sent from?" [Arsenal] "Weresharks are to be expected in this region of the sea. I don't think they were sent from there." * Neil nods. "Have any incentitive as to who our tailers are then perhaps?" "I'm guessing you do, since you don't seem surprised by them." ((brb)) [Arsenal] "We're keeping an eye on them, that should be enough for you." "That is sir, thankee." * Bourne stands at the side of the ship, facing out to sea. He nervously brushes his hand across his mouth. "Are you well,Master Bourne?" "Here goes." He looks down at the book for one last pointer, then sets it down carefully and securely. * Veshengo walks over to Bourne, watching what he's doing. [Arsenal] Around noon, the captain goes into his office/quarters, and comes out a little later, where he takes the wheel, makes some minor corrections to send the ship directly due south. GM: Can I spend a half-point on Windstorm now? [Arsenal] half-point? I thought you had to spend a full point on spells. Yeah, I just remembered that. [Arsenal] and yes. 1 point. [Arsenal] (btw, URL of your map of this world again?) * Bourne looks to his sides. "You guys will... hopefully... want to stand a couple of yards away." http://earl.of.sandwich.net/Draft1.jpg * Curuar moves back a respectable distance * Veshengo shrugs and backflips to a safer distance. * Bourne extends his arms to his sides and carefully enunciates several magical words. He spends 4 energy and sharply pulls his arms around in a fast circle. 3d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Bourne (3d6) and gets 16. [Arsenal] failure, right? *fizzle* * Bourne waits a second. "...Hmm." "Something should have happened..." [Arsenal] you create a minor water spray in the nearby ocean * Monika hangs on to the rigging. "Yes, that would be a logical assumption. +" "That was... less than impressive. Something break your concentration?" "Well, guess I'll try again after a bit." He picks up his book again. "Sorry to be anticlimactic. +" [Arsenal] "you mispronounced the last three -sentences-." * Curuar half expects a nasty side-effect to produce itself "Next show's in an hour and a half, after I recharge for another go." "Klatu... verata... nic*coughkaffkaff*" In the meantime, I puzzle over the book some more. [Arsenal] *nod* Okay, hour.5 later? [Arsenal] *nod* *firmly* "Right." [Arsenal] nothing else going on, but you do notice your change in direction is putting you closer to the storm front ((Back)) "Master Bourne, you are certain there will be no unexpected results from a failed casting? On my mother's ship, the weather mage once very nearly cracked the mainmast after miscasting. a new spell." -. "Nope." * Arsenal oocly cracks out GURPS Magic. *heh*heh*heh* * Bourne sets the book down securely again, steps several yards away. "Come on now. If you're gonna be facing this kind of thing frequently, you're gonna have to get used to using battle magic." He focuses. * Bourne once again extends his arms to his sides and carefully enunciates several magical words. He spends 4 energy and sharply pulls his arms around in a fast circle. 3d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Bourne (3d6) and gets 9. * Neil sits down in front of the wheel, legs between the railing that blocks the fall onto the lower decks Wind picks up from the deck around him, and in under a second is whistling fast enough to knock a man down, completely surrounding him in a miniature hurricane. "Impressive show!" "Most impressive." "That's what I'm talkin' about." * Curuar waits for the other shoe to drop [Arsenal] B: the wind shifts slightly, knocking you down I don't get a knockback roll? [Arsenal] a crack of thunder is heard in the distance [Arsenal] (if you want... was being slightly dramatic) 3d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Bourne (3d6) and gets 15. (No roll for you!) "Oof!" The wind dissipates. "Okay. Better... but must practice before using that in combat." "As I recall, it was a lightning spell that struck the mast." "You definetly got somethin' there. Does it knock projectiles out of the sky, too?" "Yup. It'd take a master bowman to shoot through that." [Arsenal] while the wind may seem to dissipate, you notice a moment later that its just shifted... the ship is sailing *into* tropical storm-force winds. * Bourne looks up. "Okay, I didn't do that." * Monika makes sure everything she has is dogged down! * Curuar gets to his duty station * Bourne realizes what Monika is doing, dashes to collect his precious book and being it safely to his cabin. [Arsenal] Cur: To the crow's nest with ye! * Veshengo gets to work with doing stuff! *muttergrumble* "I just had a shower!" -e+r "I daresay our lives just got a lot more interesting!" * Curuar gets to the crows nest "Cap'n, I won't be much use a sorceror if I fall off the boat. Would you like for me to go down below or would you need me as an extra hand on deck sir?" [Arsenal] "All available hands, get down to the cargo hold. Cover the powder!" * Curuar has his bow and swords with him * Neil follows the first mate's order * Monika heads down to the cargo hold to see to the powder magazine * Veshengo does that! * Bourne joins the general rush. * Curuar keeps an eye open for anything that doesn't look normal. Especially anything that look like a wave moving the way it shouldn't, or an oddly formed shadow [Arsenal] Scrolls are handed out to those who can use 'em. They're basic prestidigitation scrolls geared to keep stuff dry. * Neil begins to use the scrolls at apprporiate moments, preferring to use them instead of tapping into his own innate abilities * Bourne assumes the captain knows that if the storm gets dangerously strong, he can tone it down. [Arsenal] Cur: Spot check? 1d20+1 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Curuar (1d20+1) and gets 9. [Arsenal] C: you see what looks to be the faint shadow outline of something vaguely cigar-shaped in the air behind the cloudbank. ((UFO's!)) (Nonsense! It's a FISH) [Arsenal] (you're both wrong!) * Curuar tries to get a better look [Arsenal] Cur: another spot check (It's not a Flying Indestructible Super Herring?) [Arsenal] Cur: nope. ;) 1d20+1 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Curuar (1d20+1) and gets 14. [Arsenal] Int check? * Bourne , looking up from deck, spots Curuar. "See something?" he shouts up. 1d20 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Curuar (1d20) and gets 13. It's a jet plane -- we've just dimensionally teleported to Earth!@ [Arsenal] Cur: It's vaguely familiar, but you can't place it -@ "There's something moving behind the clouds! Looks like... something familiar." "Point to it!" * Curuar does [Arsenal] B: the captain asks you to try and calm the storm. * Curuar pulls out his spyglass and tracks it * Bourne turns in hat direction and casts Clouds to dispel the cloud cover for a hundred feet around or so. [Arsenal] Cur: spot check; B: spell roll? 3d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Bourne (3d6) and gets 7. Well passed. [Arsenal] doing anything about the wind? 1d20+1 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Curuar (1d20+1) and gets 4. Not until the captain tells me to. A ship can run before a storm, though it's risky. [Arsenal] Cur: you've lost it. Is there a bonus with the spyglass? [Arsenal] not with that roll. 'k "Lost it, Master Bourne!" * Bourne scratches his chin. "I could do more, but I'd rather save my energy incase the captain wants something done about this storm. Keep a weather eye out." [Arsenal] and so the crew lost sight of the fabled _Highwind_. [Arsenal] ^_^ (heh) Oops, missed it. I mean, I missed the captain asking. Sorry. For the sake of my sanity, put the captain asking me to calm the storm just after trying to help Curuar? [Arsenal] that works Thanks. "Aye, sir." (I'd have done that rather than mess with the clouds.) [Arsenal] on a failure, you'll end up generating hurricane-force winds * Bourne goes to his cabin, grabs his powders and heads to the middle of the deck between the masts. [Arsenal] the rain is just starting as you get to the deck. [Arsenal] it's currently a light drizzle I take a minute to make some extra preparations with the symbols. [Arsenal] *nod* Symbol Drawing roll? 3d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Bourne (3d6) and gets 9. [Arsenal] sure. a success there will grant a +2 to the actual spell *nod* With this degree of success, yes. (Very awesome to watch. Need to sleep, though. Take care. * Bourne kneels, with symbols drawn to fore, aft, port and starboard about him, and begins the spell. This will take 60 seconds to cast; it's a big, complex ritual. *** Lynod (cowboy@pcp02411762pcs.laurel01.ms.comcast.net) has quit IRC [Client closed connection] [Arsenal] *nod* I'll put in 3 energy; with the rate of energy return you gave to me, I'll be able to maintain that indefinitely. Actual spell roll: 3d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Bourne (3d6-2) and gets 9. Well passed. This will affect 150 feet to either side of the ship; I don't know whether you want to say the effect will move with the ship, or not. [Arsenal] the winds die down to calmer levels, and although the rain picks up, you're no longer in danger of anything or anyone being washed off ship. [Arsenal] Cur: spot check again? The storm outside it will still be feeding it energy; how effective it is in that region will depend on how bad the natural storm is. 1d20+1 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Curuar (1d20+1) and gets 17. [Arsenal] You spot the cigar shadow again "Master Bourne! Caught it again!" * Curuar gets a good sighting on it and brings up his spyglass * Bourne looks up, shakes his head. "Busy. Gotta concentrate." [Arsenal] only this time, it's not quite a cigar, as you can make out a smaller lump underneath, and some sort of contraption near the back, * Bourne has a second thought on that, tries again in the direction Cu's pointing his spyglass. 3d6+1 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Bourne (3d6+1) and gets 14. [Arsenal] clouds again? Yeah. With a penalty of 1 for maintaining Storm. Zeppelin. [Arsenal] yep... ((Might be the Thousands!;)) Just so you know, that's 4 for Windstorm, 3 for Storm, and 2 for Clouds. I have 1 left and that's it. "Master Bourne! Do ships fly?" [Arsenal] btw, none of you ICly know what it is... "Dunno. Magic, maybe?" * Curuar tries to make out details and Clouds passed, by the way. [Arsenal] Cur: it moves up and out of your sight, seemingly going over the next cloudbank. [Arsenal] but it appears to be headed your direction "I think it's headed for us!" [Arsenal] er.. correction.... [Arsenal] headed the same way you are (figured as much) (When in doubt, it's magic!) (But remember Clarke's Law: Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic) * Neil stays belowdecks during this, as he doesn't particularly enjoy the rain [Arsenal] and anything is possible with tinker gnomes involved Woopy cusions and exploding cigars! :) [Arsenal] and.... call it here for tonight? [Arsenal] quarter to one here. Sounds good to me 'k. (I'm good with that.) BTW XP from the last session? Sure [Arsenal] will be tallied with this one [Arsenal] ----------------- weresharks not included in prior disclaimer -------- ------
